Facebook for HVAC Contractors

As mentioned in my last post, Facebook is one of the many social media options available to individuals and companies on the internet to promote themselves.  It is a way to educate and engage in dialogue with anyone else, mostly friends and colleagues, but also people interested in bands, brands and even non-profit movements.

One major question though, is how can I use Facebook for my HVAC company?  The answers can be quite simple.  Here are three key ways that you can use Facebook to promote your business by positioning yourself as an expert and earning your prospects and customers trust.

1.    Promote your blog:  Simply adding the link in a post to people who you are friends with (if you are an individual) or who like you (if you have a business page).

2.    Show examples.  Check out how Simpson Air (Simpson Air Blog) uploads pictures of work they have done or are doing to show people how they work.

3.    Give offers and discounts – but ones that engage your consumers.  This one is one of my favorites.

Remember a few key points when engaging in any social media campaign:

  1. Have a plan.  This is so that you post regularly and consistently.
  2. Your goal is to engage prospects and consumers so it has to be about them – not about you!
  3. It is good to have fun.
